“The responsibilities of a home health aide (HHA) can and will vary from patient to patient, however, you must know how to perform many different responsibilities under the supervision of medical staff. These include administering oral medications, checking pulse, respiration and blood pressure rates, helping patients mobilize, dress, bathe, and assisting with braces or artificial limbs.
Unlike other careers that require a 40-hour week, hours can vary depending on the patient and/or employer. Some patients only require a couple of hours of care and others require care around-the-clock. The needs of your patient will set the tone for your work week.
