About Future Truckers of America

FTA is a CDL testing provider approved by the NCDMV, meaning students complete their road test with state-certified examiners before finishing the program. Graduates who pass the CDL exam receive all necessary documentation to obtain their commercial driver's license.

Housing is also available at FTA, offering a comfortable, home-like environment complete with Wi-Fi - Perfect for students who want to review their materials in the evenings using a personal laptop.

Classroom instruction at FTA is designed to be hands-on and engaging. Students use interactive "clicker" devices to respond to questions displayed on screen, making lessons dynamic and easy to follow. Our goal is simple: the more familiar you are with the equipment and the more confident you are in the material, the more prepared you'll be when you take the wheel of your first commercial truck.

At FTA, our commitment goes beyond training. We're focused on helping you land a position with a trusted trucking company and setting you up for long-term success in your driving career. During your time here, you'll have the opportunity to meet directly with representatives from leading trucking companies actively looking for motivated, entry-level drivers ready to build a future in the industry.

Available Program

  • Class A CDL Training

Future Truckers of America's four-week, 160-hour program covers classroom instruction, hands-on driving, and observation time using late-model Volvo tractors. Interactive classroom technology keeps lessons engaging, and training includes night driving and preparation for key endorsements, such as Hazmat.

FTA offers customized schedules for any company in need of getting their employees commercial driver licenses. FMCSA implemented new Entry Level Driver Training regulations on February 7, 2022 that requires any one wishing to obtain a CDL to complete mandatory driver training. Future Truckers can help your employees meet these ELDT requirements by customizing a training schedule that will allow your employees to train and continue to work. North Carolina truck driving schools require an enrolled student to complete 160 hours of training in no less than a 16 day period. This training period more than exceeds the ELDT requirements to obtain a CDL.
