Since 2006, Elite Welding Academy has trained welders to meet the real demands of the trade. The school holds accreditation as both an AWS Test Facility and an NCCER Training Sponsor and Assessment Center, giving students credentials that employers recognize.
The program traces its roots to United Group Services, which built the original welding curriculum more than two decades ago. That foundation still shapes how Elite operates today, with a continued focus on safety, quality, and hands-on preparation for industrial and manufacturing work environments.
Instructors at Elite Welding Academy are working field welders themselves, not just classroom teachers. Their goal is to build students who can weld with precision and walk into a job site with confidence. The training is structured to push students while keeping outcomes realistic, so graduates leave with skills they can actually use.
Students who complete a program at Elite Welding Academy also gain access to career placement support, helping connect graduates with employers in the welding field. The school describes its outcome simply: graduates aren't just certified, they're part of a welding career built to last.
Elite Welding Academy's Structural and Pipe Welding Training Program prepares students for hands-on careers in pipe welding, structural welding, and manufacturing welding. Graduates typically go on to work in weld shops, production facilities, and commercial or industrial construction settings.
Coursework covers welding safety, equipment setup and maintenance, and hands-on procedure training across four core processes: SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW. The program runs 1,000 total clock hours, split into four 250-hour sessions. A high school diploma or GED is required for enrollment.
Students can choose between two schedule options. Day classes run Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a shorter Friday session from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., totaling 40 hours a week. Night classes meet Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., totaling 24 hours a week. Day students typically finish in about 26 weeks, while night students complete the program in roughly 44 weeks.
Class sizes stay small, with an 18-to-1 student-to-instructor ratio so each student gets direct, hands-on guidance. Instructors bring real-world welding experience to the classroom and shop floor alike.
Students who complete the program earn a Certificate of Completion in Structural and Pipe Welding, along with access to Elite's career placement support to help connect graduates with employers in the field.
